Impact
Here at Highfield Community Hall, we support and strengthen the community through practical contributions, financial assistance, free or subsidised use of facilities to local community groups, and by hosting activities that bring people together.
The Hall actively contributes to and assists with events for Highfield Cricket Club, which shares the Billinge Road site.
This includes hosting key club occasions such as the Junior Presentation Evening, helping the club celebrate its junior players and maintain its role as a long-standing community sports organisatio.
The Hall also provides financial support to Saint Matthew’s Bowling Club, aiding the club’s sustainability and facilities alongside the shared site.
Highfield Community Hall CIC contributes in a variety of ways to local charities and volunteer-led community groups.
Notable examples include:
-
Hope School
-
St Matthew’s Church
-
Church Yard Volunteer Group
-
Highfield Clean & Green
These efforts extend to “many others,” reinforcing grassroots initiatives that improve the local environment, support education and welfare, and sustain volunteer activity.
The Hall hosts numerous uniformed organisations such as Guides, Brownies, Rainbows. It provides free use to church groups for meetings and coffee mornings, as well as space for friendship groups, indoor bowls, and a wide range of other community activities.
These sessions and events reduce social isolation, support wellbeing, and create regular opportunities for residents of all ages to connect. The Hall also runs or facilitates broader community gatherings, including Christmas Markets that support the church, match-day screenings, and hire for family celebrations, while maintaining a fully licensed bar.
As a CIC, we combine commercial activity (room hire, bar, and events) with community benefit. It acts as a practical partner to sports clubs, the church, school, volunteer groups, and uniformed organisations, while offering accessible space that brings people together.
Our Facebook presence regularly highlights these contributions, events, and partnerships, underscoring its ongoing commitment to Highfield and the surrounding area.
